At Heritage Elementary School, we are committed to helping children achieve their full academic potential. This is accomplished through individualized instruction in core curriculum, low student-teacher ratios and a qualified teaching staff. Our goal is to provide a safe, structured environment that creates a solid foundation for your child’s education.
Heritage Elementary School utilizes the Character Counts! program aimed at developing character in young people.
As students develop, they continue to learn word recognition, comprehension strategies, multiple word meanings, correct spelling usage, punctuation, grammar, sentence structure and proofreading. They also learn the importance of proper handwriting, spelling, and a writing process. They practice creative writing, cursive, writing book reviews, and researching papers.
History lessons encompass all areas of modern and ancient history. Students will also learn about civics, governments, geography, and economics.
Science topics include astronomy, geology, meteorology, oceanography and ecology. Methods of scientific inquiry are also taught, including: observing, classifying, measuring, inferring, predicting and reporting.
