Middle School

middleSchool Heritage Middle School consists of grades 7 and 8. Our middle school classes are designed to thoroughly prepare students for high school-level subjects and situations.

The Character Curriculum continues for both seventh and eighth grade classrooms through a variety of community service activities.

In the disciplines of reading and writing, students are exposed to a wide range of literary styles in order to practice reading skills and to gain an appreciation of reading. Our middle school writing workshops integrate grammar and the usage of and mechanics of ideal writing skills.

The seventh-grade mathematics focus is on pre-algebra, geometry, probability and graphing, while eighth-grade students are introduced to algebra.

Social Studies introduces students to American history and patriotic values. Students are encouraged to think about ideas and issues that aid them to question and think in a critical way.

Science topics include astronomy, geology, meteorology, oceanography and ecology. Methods of scientific inquiry are also taught: observing, classifying, measuring, inferring, predicting and reporting.
